To get a scope of the work, contractors will perform an interior and exterior inspection of the roofing system. They will look at what damage has occurred to the roofing material and to the underlying structure of the building, if any. If the damage is extensive, a new roof may be required. However, if it is minimal, it may be possible to install a new roof overtop of the existing roof. (It depends on the type of course, and on the weight-bearing capacity of the building.)
Planning
There are several effective commercial roofing systems for Vancouver flat roof buildings. During this stage your contractor will go over your options, taking into consideration your future plans (ie: increasing energy efficiency, going green, LEED points, etc.) and budget.
Roof deck removal/prep
Once the type of roof has been decided upon, work can begin. Either the old roof will be removed to make way for the new one, or it will be prepared to have a new one laid on top.
